Every great sauce has the right combination of ingredients that produce a great flavor. Every great organization and church's values make up the ingredients to their sauce. During this series Pastor Adrian will be diving into the ingredients of Engage. The first ingredient is Innovative Reconciliation. Pastor Adrian takes use through most important reconciliation, the one between humans and God that was accomplished by Jesus.

Pastor Adrian concludes our study on the book of Isaiah. Using Luke 4 where Jesus reads from the scroll of Isaiah Pastor Adrian poses an important question to the people of God, especially the Church in America, Is Jesus welcomed here? We see that even in his hometown Jesus was not welcomed because his intention has always been to build a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural church that is built of every nation and people group. So we will have to decide if we will be like Jesus' hometown and not welcome Him because of His desire for diversity, or will we go against the grain of our current cultural climate and partner with Jesus to build His diverse Church.

As we continue our study of Isaiah, we explore Isaiah 50 today. When we go through life, whatever path we take is typically led by something. What we allow to be our torch along the path of life is led by either fear or faith. Do we let ourselves light our path out of fear, or do we let God be the torch on our path through faith?

As we continue in our study of Isaiah, Pastor Adrian zooms in on Chapter 11. Pastor Adrian shows us how God has a future hope for His people. In this hope, God wants to show us a person, a place, a path and a people.

Life is a constant state of tension between dreams and nightmares. What is important is we never lose faith and understand we serve an unshakable kingdom. We need to lament during our nightmares so we can process and know where we stand, because God already knows. We need to understand our faith is not in a man, but our faith and salvation is through Jesus Christ alone.

Following God is an arduous, trying journey.  We must be prepared to experience the unknown while giving God full authority over our lives, to have our innermost self exposed and to put in the work required.

In today's sermon we explore what it means to be competitive in our faith. We are not talking about competition in our good works. Competitiveness is the relentless pursuit to accomplish a mission. In our case, this is the relentless pursuit of the Mission Jesus has laid out before us.  

Hebrews 12 calls us to "run with the endurance the race God has set before us".  We need to patience and clarity to find our individual race.  For this, we must keep our eyes on Christ as our champion to initiate the process.

This week we begin a new sermon series titled simply "The Dash." Throughout this series we will explore how that our lives impact not only ourselves and those around us, but future generations as well. We will explore what we must do to leave a legacy of faith. 

Continuing in our Make Change sermon series, we examine the nature of stewardship and our role as stewards in managing God's resources. Do we turn to God for ultimate approval of our financial decisions? Or do we rely on our own wisdom?

Money. It's a huge part of our lives. Most of our time throughout our week is spent at work or sleeping, but when it comes to money many of us forget to ask Jesus what his perspective is on money. There are many places in scripture that describe money and possessions. Throughout this series we will explore the topic of money and how it relates to justification and sanctification.

We all have expectations of things in life and how certain things are, but once we encounter them these expectations can be shattered. We explore the importance of His death and resurrection, and how God meant for us to be in His presence.

If you have been attending church for a decent amount of time you have heard the phrase "Make war against your sin." This, as most things, is easier said than done. This week Derrick Hayes not only encourages us to make war, but shows us the reason behind why we should make war against our sin. Because of God's amazing grace and Him making us righteous, we can now be inspired to make war against our sin.

There are times where we have just found ourselves at the end of a fight we have won and before we can even enjoy the celebration we find ourselves in another fight. Guest speaker Pastor Aaron Austin comes to Engage to share on how to win the fight after the fight. Pastor Aaron highlights in the life of Elijah the prophet how we can win the fight just as he did.

Humans love to find a groove and enter into a place where the rhythm of life is constant and comfortable. While this may have some benefit, it also has a detrimental possibility that surfaces as complacency. But the reality is that sex has its origin in God, and has been a gift since it was given to our first parents in the garden. Because of Jesus' resurrection we can now have hope that He can bring us new life as well. Pastor Adrian shows us what a hope restored and aimed in the proper direction can lead to through the story of the woman at the well.

Our expectations drive what we think other people owe us. The trouble comes when the expectations we create are false. This week Pastor Adrian uses the life of Peter to show us how we need to allow the reality of Jesus to crush our false expectations.

This week we dive into what it takes to become an owner and how to create an owner. Pastor Derek Kasdorf dives into the parable of the sower. We see that the combination of hard work and patience help to produce good fruit that God wants to bring into our lives.

Contentment is hard to walk in because many times we live for ourselves. By living for ourself we create an unending desire to receive more. Pastor Adrian unpacks the key to contentment, we must live to serve others just as Paul outlines in his book to the Thessalonians.

As we conclude our series 31 Kings about entering the promised land that God has designated for us Pastor Adrian highlights the last address that Joshua gave the people of Israel. After conquering all the kings that opposed them and entering into the rest that God promised, Joshua laid out a challenge to all the people, choose this day who you will serve. We hope to echo Joshua's response to this, as for me and my house, we will serve God.

Authority can only be exercised within the jurisdiction that the authority is established. Earthly authority is always limited to a certain domain since there are finite jurisdictions. As evidenced in Joshua 10, God is not limited to a certain area or subject matter in his authority, even exercising His authority over the natural laws of the earth in order to make the Sun stand still for a whole day. Since God is creator and established the world he has the authority to have His creation bend to His will.

Anything that has great worth had to endure a process before being deemed valuable. As believers the process that we must follow is consistent obedience to God in order to walk in the fullness of life that He offers. Sometimes the things that we are called to obey, like the instructions the Israelites received in order to defeat Jericho, doesn't make sense. But through consistently obeying God, He will perform a miracle that will break down the walls we built up through our disobedience.

Breakthrough doesn't often come without difficulty. It's true today as it was for the Israelites as they awaited crossing the Jordan to reach the Promised Land. To prepare them for destiny, God asked his people to consecrate themselves and keep their eyes fixed on him so they would be set apart. He asks the same of us as we prepare for our own destiny.

Faith is essential to for Christian survival.  To be impactful, faith must be heard, seen and experienced.  We see this exemplified in Joshua 2 by Rahab, a Canaanite prostitute.  Though she was not an Israelite and not of the highest social standing, she acts on faith and aids Israelite spies, thereby becoming an essential piece in the conquering of Jericho and Christian lineage.

As the Israelites entered their Promised Land they would have to defeat 31 Kings in order to be able to inhabit the land given to them by God. Pastor Adrian continues our series that will outline attributes that are needed to walk into our promised land. This week we see that in order to conquer the kings in the land we will need to work as a part of a team/family.

As we begin the new year, Pastor Adrian helps us to realize that God is greater than our hearts. In the beginning of the year we often find ourselves creating several resolutions, which we inevitably fail on majority of those goals. This is when our heart begins to condemn us, telling us how we will always mess up and never measure up. As outlined in 1 John, we know that we can live in confidence in our relationship with God because of the finished work of Jesus on the cross and know that God is greater than the condemnation our hearts try to communicate.

As we conclude our series Expectations, Pastor Derek teaches on how God expects us to act when we sin. We must realize that we need God's help, recognize the origin of our sin and realize the joy of our salvation.

As we continue our series about Expectation, Pastor Adrian leads us to the first chapter of Luke to see two different examples of how people's expectations differed when encountered by the word of God. We learn that expectations are birthed and fortified by the word of God and witnessing the fulfillment of God's word.

As we enter the Christmas season, we are all filled with expectations for the holidays. Pastor Adrian encourages us to foster proper and great expectations. In the first century when Jesus came to this Earth there were many people who encountered him but missed the reality of who he was because their expectations were skewed by their erroneous expectations. Let us be people who always have a hope and expectation as we maintain a right view of God.

As we conclude our series on building the masterpiece of family Pastor Adrian shares on the most important aspect of building a family, namely, maintaining the first love we have when we initially encounter God.The driving force behind any believer is maintaining the love that compels us to seek wholeheartedly after God.

As a new school year begins, Pastor Adrian speaks about crossing over into a new season. Just as the Israelites crossed the Red Sea into a new season, there is always the temptation to want to go back to the previous season. But we must listen to the words that Moses told the Israelites just as they were about to enter into their new season; we must not fear, stand firm and look for the Lord's salvation.

As we conclude our summer sermon series in the book of Ephesians Pastor Adrian speaks to us about Christ's victory over satan, sin and death. He explains that while we are currently in a battle, Christ's victory is ours as well once we believe in His finished work on the cross. We are encouraged to put on the armor of God in order to be able to stand against the enemy's attacks.

As we continue in our series on identity, Pastor Adrian shares on how are identity is tied to our willingness to submit. Many times the word submit is a word that people do not like, we are always looking for ways to push back against authority. However, we see in Ephesians 5 that all are relationships are impacted by our willingness to submit and it all begins with the reason to submit, which is a reverence for Christ.

In our next installment of our series on identity, Pastor Adrian speaks on being filled by the Holy Spirit. Since the fall in the garden, humanity has yearned to fill the hole that was created by the fracture in relationship that we have with God. With all the things that are vying to attempt to fill the void, Pastor Adrian shows us how to ensure that we are once again filling with the only thing that can satisfy the void, the Holy Spirit.

As we continue in our sermon series on identity, Pastor Adrian speaks on the equipping of believers. God granted gifts so that we could use them to build his church. As we mature, we learn to use these gifts that God has given us to help build His church.

As a father, God wants to hear his children and grow in relationship with us. As children of God, we should know that God loves us and wants to hear us.

Jesus' life and sacrifice leads to the breaking of the walls of hostility that hinder and stop us from building meaningful relationships. We learn that what brings us into family, keeps us in family. And the only thing that allows us to build those relationships is the cross of Christ.

As we continue in our series where we find that our identity is in Christ, Pastor Adrian teaches us that as a result of the gospel and Jesus' life that now we are saved. This term is one that is at times casually thrown out in Christian circles without the realization of the impact of being saved. Pastor Adrian explains that the key thing we are saved from is from ourselves, and that God has saved our desires, direction and destination.

As we continue in our series of identity, Pastor Adrian teaches on how God the Father appreciates believers. Pastor Adrian also gives special attention to fathers on this Father's Day in order to let it be known that the role of the father is something that is worthy of appreciation. We learn that appreciation produces security, serving and unity.

One of the byproducts of Jesus' work on this earth, is that those who believe in Him have been given the opportunity to take part of the blessed life. In our American society, the idea of a blessed life has become skewed from the original intent that the Lord wanted us to experience. Pastor Adrian speaks to us about the spiritual blessings available to believers, and how the spiritual blessings far outweigh any financial or physical blessing that we could receive.

According to the Bible, a human's identity can be formed into just one of two different camps; you can either be viewed as being part of Adam's lineage or you can be viewed as being part of Jesus' lineage. Pastor Adrian begins our series that will focus centering our identity in Christ so that we can experience the fullness of life that God desires for us.

As Christendom in the United States has waned and just about disappeared, the way that Christians should interact with our culture has drastically changed. Pastor Adrian encourages us to be aware of aware of the climate of our culture, so that we as believers can effectively engage our culture to accomplish the Great Commission laid out by Jesus for His church.

In the fourth week of our series of Mixtapes, Pastor Adrian shares with us about how being impacted by the gospel leads us to have changed lives. Every person can look at our world today and admit that the world needs changing, but in order to produce the change we would like to see, we will need to have experienced this change. Whenever an experience impacts our lives, especially for the better, we cannot help but share that experience with others. As Jesus impacts our lives, we can then share Jesus with the world to be able to spark change.

As we celebrate our mothers on this Mother's Day, Pastor Adrian speaks to us to aspire to a trait that mothers carry in spades, relentless faith. It is almost inherent for a mother to have such strong faith and belief in their children and for their children. Pastor Adrian uses the example of the Shunamite women from 2 Kings 4 so that we can have a resting/passive faith that comes from contentment in Jesus. Also, in conjuction with the resting faith that comes from contentment, we should also have an active faith that allows us to believe God for things that are greater than we can accomplish in and of ourselves.

Throughout the new mixtape series, Engage Church will approach several different unrelated topics. This week, Pastor Adrian teaches us how to live a life that will leave a legacy for centuries. Pastor Adrian outlines that there are five points that will help us build these century lasting legacies. We should follow the cloud of God, start with the Word of God, think with the end in mind, develop a squad, and advance God's kingdom.

This can be seen as some people believing that the Holy Spirit empowering believers ended with the canonization of scripture, while others have twisted theology and practices. This week Pastor Adrian outlines how to recognize people and churches that are living Holy Spirit led lives.

But one of the main roles that the Holy Spirit is to empower believers in Jesus to be weird in a way that is counter-cultural. Not weird for the sake of weird, but that believers would be clearly different than those around them because of the grace of God; Jesus' life, death and resurrection; and the Holy Spirit granting the believer strength to follow in Jesus' footsteps.

Easter is the biggest celebration for the Christian faith since it marks the distinguishing factor between itself and all other religions, Jesus Christ resurrection.The world has been broken through sin and rebellion and the only thing that could restore the relationship between God and humanity. Pastor Adrian explains how Jesus takes things that were broken and make it into something beautiful.

Palm Sunday marks the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem the week before he was crucified and ressurected in order to allow humanity to once again be in relationship with God. After his entry into Jerusalem, Jesus had an interesting interaction with a fig tree. Pastor Adrian explains the significance of Jesus interaction with the fig tree and how it applies to our lives so that we can bear fruit.

We are present for the things we value. This week Pastor Adrian outlines for us that God values people above everything else. As followers of Jesus, we should also pattern our lives to reflect Jesus' value system and place people at the top of our list.
