Sacred or secular? Our motivation determines which applies. The church today, in many ways, limits it's influence to the walls housing its congregation. To truly live as disciples, we must carry the gospel in all aspects of life; work, play and all things between.

New Rules 2K15 -  Week 2 (Engaging People)

What should mark us as disciples of Christ? Is our good deeds? Is it the wealth we accumulate? John 13 tells us the way we love each another will reveal that we are followers of Christ; that we love others as He loved us.

New Rules 2K15 -  Week 1 (Engaging God)

Church culture does not make us Christians.  God wants to engage us in a way that alters the path of our lives.  Isaiah Chapter 6 is perhaps the best example in scripture of this.  In a single moment there is a disturbance in Isaiah's soul, delivering him from his complacent state, recognizing his need for redemption.  When God inquires who He should dispatch, Isaiah declares, "Here am I.  Send me."

At the beginning of a new year, we are inclined to focus on the past and future, ignoring the present. We point to past spiritual failure and future spiritual growth without taking inventory of our current state.  Our prayer at Engage for 2015, is that you would take hold of where you are with God, and seek earnestly to know Him more.
